Special events at Queensway
Lakeshore Advance
Queensway Residents benefited from
many special events throughout the month
of October starting out with a scenic Fall
Colour Bus Tour October 9th. The day was a
beautiful sunny one as Bonnie, our Bus
Driver, took us on a meandering tour down
Orchard Line, through Benmiller and a
number of other scenic and colourful areas.
The Goldies, a dynamic, entertaining
band from the London area put on a great
show for the Octoberfest Party on Saturday
October 19th. The resident Baking group
prepared a variety of homemade cookies
and squares which along with delicious
punch and non alcoholic beer was served
and enjoyed during the program. Having a
good number of family members and friends
join us for the program enhanced an already
wonderful afternoon for the residents.
Carolyn, Food Service Supervisor at
Queensway co ordinated a Food Fair'Ihurs-
day afternoon October 24th with Gordon
Foods Service that showcased a number of
special desserts and entrees that will be on
the Winter Menus. Family members, staff
and residents had a great time taste testing
the variety of items.
The appropriately named "Audibly Awe
some" seven member group delivered an
awesome program of music at the resident's
October Birthday Party Thursday October
24th. Fred, Richard & Len Lobb along with
Richard Rose, Bill Strong, Gerry Cox and lack
Storey's performance ensured that everyone
felt the horn long program was over far too
soon.
Along with the regularly scheduled pro
grants, residents also benefited from Geri
Fashions Clothing Company's Stop n Shop,
Gospel Music with the Lakeview Singers,
1 larvey & liruce's music in the sunroom &
Dessert with Marlette.
