School bus collision sends two to hospital
lluron County Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) has charged a 54 year old female fol-
lowing a crash early this morning. At 8:47
a.m. 1luron County EMS and Huron County
OPP officers responded to a two- vehicle col-
lision located east of 11ensall at the intersec-
tion of line 17 and Road 183.
Police investigation revealed 11 Buick Ren-
dezvous was travelling westbound on line 17
when the Buick Rendezvous driver failed to
stop for a stop sign. The Buick entered the
intersection and was struck by a school bus
travelling southbound on Road 183.
A 68- year old male school bus driver from
Zurich and a 14 year old female student from
South I luron District !Ugh School were trans-
ported to South Huron l hospital with minor
injuries. Four other passengers on the school
bus were uninjured. As well, the female driver
of the Buick Rendezvous was uninjured.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
The driver of the Buick Rendezvous, a, 54
year old from Bluewater has been charged
with Disobey Stop Sign Fail to Stop contrary
to section 136 (1)(a) Highway Traffic Act.

• Plan your route and share it with your fam-
ily; never go trick -or -treating alone
• Wear light coloured or reflective material on
your costumes so you can be seen
• Avoid long costumes and accessories which
might cause you to trip or hurt yourself
• Ilse face paint rather than a mask so you can
see better
• Carry a flashlight to Tight your way
• Walk don't run •- stay on sidewalks - not the
street
• hook both ways before crossing the street
• Cross the street at intersections only
• Don't hide or cross the street between
parked cars
• Only visit homes that are well lit
• Accept treats at the door - never go into a
stranger's house
• Be cautious of animals and strangers
• Don't eat any treats while out trick -or -treat-
ing - especially if the package is already
open

a fail to remain collision, lust after 9:00
p.m. on October 24, 2013 officers were
called to an Albert Street North resi-
dence to investigate a motor vehicle
collision between a blue Subaru Imp-
reza and a residence.
The police investigation revealed the
Subaru driver was eastbound on New-
gate Street when he lost control of his
vehicle and crossed over Albert Street
North. The vehicle then mounted the
curb and collided with the brick porch
of a residence on Albert Street North.
The Subaru sustained extensive front
end damage. The house was relatively
unscathed however there was damage
to the landscaping of the property.
Two male occupants were observed
fleeing the scene. Further investiga-
tion revealed the identity of the driver.
An 18 -year old , from Ashfield-Col-
horne-Wawlinosh has been charged
with Fail to Remain, Careless Driving
and Person tinder 19 years Consuming
Liquor. He has a court appearance
scheduled for December 3, 2013 at
Provincial Offences Act Court
Goderich.
