Grand Bend Women's Insti-
tute Book Club reconvened
their activities on September
26 at the Grand Bend Library.
Leader Barb Kilback led the
discussion of the book, "The
Purchase" by Linda Spalding.
During the review of this book
many varied ideas and
thoughts arose concerning the
characters in the book. The
jest of the story is a young
Quaker father and widower
41) leaves his home in Pennsylva-
nia to establish a new life. He
sets out with two horses, a
wagon full of belongings, five
children and a 15 year old
orphan as his wife. The club
members gave this book 4 out
5 rating. 'This author has been
interviewed on CBC radio.
The partial agenda for 2013-
14 Book Club is:
October 31- Memory Keeper's
Daughter by Kim F.dwawrds
November 28 Sarah's Key by
Tatiana de Rosnay
January 9 A guest speaker
February 13 Open selection
by author Jennifer Chiaverini
If you enjoy reviewing a book

our special events chairman.
