We are pleased that Bluewater
was selected to host this County-

has established that assisting
local business is a high priority
for economic development. 'Ihe
Industry Connects initiative
helps to further that goal.
"I Wiping our existing busi-
nesses Is the primary objective
of Industry Connects," said
Mayor Dowson. We have'
employers who have Jobs to fill
and Job seekers eager to work.
This event brings them both
together."
Mayor Dowson introduced
the "Industry Connect Partner-
ship" as a newly created collabo-
ration between our Chambers of
Comrnerce, skills and employ-
ment agencies and local busi-
ness and industry that will har-
ness the power of partnerships
to tackle the skills gap in Huron
County.

Visitor guide photo contest is open
4100 prize for the cover photo.
Grand Bend Chamber of Commerce
The annual Photo Contest for the cover of the area
visitors' guide is now open! All photographers are
invited to submit their photos for a chance to win $100
and bragging rights. Submit photos online at www.
grandbendtourism.com/photocontest.
'Ihe Cover Photo Contest started in 2011 as a means
of creating a photographic library of area images for the
purpose of marketing the area to visitors, vacationers,
cottagers and new residents. Since its inception, the
Contest has received 770 photographic entries. The
photographs are used in the 96 -page visitor guide, as
well as in print and web advertising materials. All pho-
tographs used in the visitor guide are accredited - so
the next time you flip through the guide, look for the
photographers' names on the photographs, you may
find a friend or neighbour or two.
The Chamber is looking for an iconic photograph for
the Cover, but also needs photographs of all descrip-
tions showing the full breadth of area activity and
attractions as well as all four seasons.
Chamber Manager Susan Mills creates an online gal-
lery for the Selection Committee to view and vote for
the photographic entries. Top selected photos are
ranked first through fifth place with accompanying
weighting assigned, determining final placement and
the winner.
'Ihe Chamber manages the production and distribu-
tion of the guide, publishing 30,000 copies annually
and distributing them throughout Ontario at more than
178 locations that include official Ontario Travel Infor-
mation Centres, onRoute centres, tourist kiosks and
businesses from Chute-a-Blondeau to Niagara -on -the -
Lake to Amherstburg to Owen Sound to 'thunder Bay.
'Ihe contest closing date is Friday, December 6, 2013.
