Think again — like a 25 -piece orchestra and 100 -member choir performing Bach's famous oratorio St. John Passion in the showroom of Huron Tractor. Or, Local res- taurants serving up 'Bach-alicious' menus and brown -bag lunches for music lovers. The seven-day festival, which features works of the great German composer Johann Sebastian Bach and others, opens Sunday with a concert by Canada's Juno - nominated flutist Susan Hoeppner with renowned percussionist Beverley John- ston at Trivia Memorial Anglican Church. There are concerts nightly at the church except for the closing show Saturday, the Bach performance at I luron Tractor. "Bach, in many ways, was innovative and pushed the boundaries and in some way that's what we're trying to do here," said executive producer Louise Fagan about the mixed program of jazz and classical music. Music at McNaughton July 20 Imagine South Huron SOUTH HURON- Music in the park is one more event to celebrate this com- munity's talents. Music at McNaughton, a youth coffee- house, will be held in the McNaughton Park pavilion on Saturday, July 20 at 4 p.m. "We have a number of local musicians that are performing and we will be sell- ing food, refreshments and cotton candy throughout the afternoon," says Trisha Pavkeje, event organizer. "We are hop- ing to raise money for the MS Bike Tour on July 27 and 28."
