'Tina Sandre loves Japanese food and is a people person so she put the two together and cre- ated her passion- a business of her own. While Midori was located on the north side of Main Street, Sandre has moved to a new location across the road and has added a licensed patio and inside the restaurant there is seat- ing for 23 people in a comfortable atmosphere within cozy surroundings. Sandre and her staff of nine are all about fresh ingredients and lasting impressions. This owner says she loves that now, after four seasons her repeat customers are like family and now that she lives here full time, she feels quite at home in the community. Sushi, in simple terns is a Japanese dish consisting of small cakes of cold rice with a topping especially of raw fish. Midori has a unique menu beginning with starters such as egg roll, shrimp tempura planner or veggie dishes. She has Vegetarian rolls, an entire selectlon from the sea and some very interest- ing tasty sauces such as green curry mayo, sweet chili, sweet soy, or honey wasabi. Midori offers sashimi and nigri and specialty rolls. If sushi is not your thing, Sandre also has an Asian turkey burger and offers great daily specials. I fell in love with the restaurant industry when 1 worked in sushi bars in Windsor, eventually moving to the management side of the house, I felt I was ready to bring all of my skills together and take the plunge with Midori," said Sandre. She wants to extend her summer season to weekends In the fall and Christmas catering. Hersununer catering and take-out have taken on a life of their own, with unique, one of a kind platters for every taste.
