Midori is green in Japanese and in (rand Bend Midori is
this Village's first sushi bar. 'Tina Sandre loves Japanese food
and is a people person so she put the two together and cre-
ated her passion- a business of her own.
While Midori was located on the north side of Main Street,
Sandre has moved to a new location across the road and has
added a licensed patio and inside the restaurant there is seat-
ing for 23 people in a comfortable atmosphere within cozy
surroundings.
Sandre and her staff of nine are all about fresh ingredients
and lasting impressions. This owner says she loves that now,
after four seasons her repeat customers are like family and
now that she lives here full time, she feels quite at home in
the community.
Sushi, in simple terns is a Japanese dish consisting of small
cakes of cold rice with a topping especially of raw fish. Midori
has a unique menu beginning with starters such as egg roll,
shrimp tempura planner or veggie dishes. She has Vegetarian
rolls, an entire selectlon from the sea and some very interest-
ing tasty sauces such as green curry mayo, sweet chili, sweet
soy, or honey wasabi. Midori offers sashimi and nigri and
specialty rolls. If sushi is not your thing, Sandre also has an
Asian turkey burger and offers great daily specials.
I fell in love with the restaurant industry when 1 worked in
sushi bars in Windsor, eventually moving to the management
side of the house, I felt I was ready to bring all of my skills
together and take the plunge with Midori," said Sandre.
She wants to extend her summer season to weekends In
the fall and Christmas catering. Hersununer catering and
take-out have taken on a life of their own, with unique, one of
a kind platters for every taste.
