An "Official Plan" is the overall plan each community creates for its future. The Plan sets a direction for how the community believes the physical land- scape should be used. It deals with top- ics such as where new housing and shops will be located, what services are needed, like roads, sewers, and parks, and how parts of the community will grow over the next 20 years. icipalities to Ontario regularly ul .' In the upcoming months, South lluron is launching "Growing South Iiuron's Future: South Huron Official Plan Update': 'this series of open houses is a chance for the community to read the draft Official Plan and provide feed - hack. A draft Official Plan will be avail- able for review online, at open houses, and at the municipal office (Olde Town 1 lall) In Exeter. Feedback from the public is essential. You can get involved by thinking about how the Plan will affect the things you are passionate about. The Plan addresses many topics, including rec- reation, agriculture, shretscapes and urban design, natural environment, commercial lands and Industrial employment areas. Attend an open house or public meeting and start conversations with others who care about the future of South 1luron. Yott can also send your written comments to the Municipality of South Huron. Information on upcoming open houses and a future public meeting will be advertised in the coating weeks. We are also using social media to keep resi- dents informed 011 the update process.
