South Huron Trail Run,
Sunday June 23rd, 2013
Supporting Big Brothers
Big Sisters of South Huron
and the South Huron Trail
Lakeshore Advance
It's not too late to register for the South
Huron Trail Run scheduled for Sunday, June
23rd, 2013, in Exeter. This year we are cele-
brating the 10th anniversary of the South
Huron Trail Run!
The eight kilometre run is part of the Run-
ners' Choice Runpiker Series of eight races
throughout Southwestern Ontario. Over 200
runners from across Ontario came to Exeter
last year for this unique run. Most races in the
series are on city streets but this race follows
the Ausable River through the MacNaughton-
Morrison Trail and the Morrison Dam Con-
servation Area. The runners love the shaded,
scenic course.
Runners from Exeter, London, Stratford,
Dungannon, and Goderich have already
registered.
The run has official timers and gives every-
one a chance to see how quickly they can
complete a five -kilometre or an eight -kilome-
tre race. We are also having a 400m Kids' Run.
Historically the winning time for the eight -
kilometre run is less than 28 minutes. For
many, this is a chance to run with family and
friends.
Last year the event raised just over $5000 for
Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron (BBB-
SSH). As was the case in the first 8 years of the
event, runners can also chose to direct their
donations to the South 1luron Trail where the
run is held. Donations of $20 or more are eli-
gible for tax receipts and the entry fee is
waived if runners raise $75 or more in
pledges.
Both the 9:00am five -kilometre run and the
9:40am eight -kilometre trail run start at the
South Huron Recreation Centre. Spectators
are welcome to line the route to cheer on the
athletes.
Runners can register on-line at www.onlin-
eregistrations.ca/southhuron/. Entry forms
are also available at the Big Brothers Big Sis-
ters of South 1luron office, the Ausable Hay-
field Conservation Authority office or Run-
ners' Choice in London. Same day registration
is also available at the event.
For more information, please contact Mag-
gie Miller (Big Brothers Big Sisters of South
Iluron) at 519-237-3554 or Tracey McPherson
(Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority) at
519-235-2610.
