NextEra vs Esther Wrightman
Oear Editor,
If there ever was a typical David and
Goliath struggle this is it.
Esther Wrightman lives in the municipality
of Adelaide-M1e'tcalf1' and is a full -tinge mom
to two young children, she supports her
family financially working at her parents'
nursery. She represents a modest hard
working rural grass roots citizen of Ontario
who receives few breaks in life. She is fearful
of the intrusion of giant wind turbines around
the house that she and her family live in. She
has been a thorn in the side of wind developer
Next lira for the past few years as she stands
up and fights to protect the health and 'well
being' of her family.
NextEra is a huge multi -national energy
developer owned by Florida Power and light.
They are very good at going where there arts
guaranteed subsidy dollars to develop
industrial wind farms on a huge scale. 'They
have deep pockets and a multitude of
resources such as lobbyists, lawyers and
public relations staff. 'lltey are here because
our present provincial government has turned
them louse on rural Ontario.
Apparently Ne'xtEra's 'nose is out of joint'
because Esther used a little poetic license
referring to NextEra as Next'I'error in a
derogatory way with some of her tvritings amt
videos as she protested the actions of Next Era
and the proliferation of industrial wind

\Vinci Resistance' website and on '1'ou Tube.
cont.
When NextEra demanded Esther to cease
and desist she refused and stood her ground.
She is passionate about this issue anti was not
about to be bullied into submission.
Believe it or not, NextEra decided to sue
Esther. She has no resources to fight this on
her own but with support of many and pro
hono advice from legal counsel she is not
hacking down and will represent herself in
court.
God luck NextEra, as volt now have to deal
with the image of a corporate bully as well as
the historic anti -wind backlash from rural
Ontario.
This is y1't another sad result of the mis-
guided policy of our provincial government
ramming unwanted, unnecessary and unvia-
ble industrial wind turbines flown the throat
of rural residents.
She is receiving encouragement from other
victims of wind turbines from all over the
world as well as here in Ontario. Esther, you
are an inspiration to all of tis as you stand
up for what you believe is right, without
thought of giving up when confronted with
overwhelming odds against you. 'Good on
you girl:

Parks are cool. Parks have lot''
different uses. Some have a sift
function like a shorts field or a dog
walk. Some provide a retreat for apart-
ment dwellers. All (larks hell) to define
the look and feel of a colllnlunity. But
did you know that they are also a pow-
erful tool for downtown revitaliza-
tion? Many conlnlunities have
reversed the dOW11tt111) of a downtown
just by building a park. Done right
with Tots of community support a park
can stabilize a struggling commercial
area. it can also provide al landmark
especially when named after some-
one famous. For all these things to
happen a community has to be aware
of and support a new park. And I len -
sall gets it. 'Ihe community is rallying.
The new park will he built on King
Street right beside the Community
Ilealth Centre. Wouldn't vou like to
sce what the new park could look like?
Well you can. 1 lere's how. Just send an
entail to m.cassidyetown.hluewatet.
on.ca and 1'11 send you the concept
drawing. Or you can stop by the 1len
salt library and see the drawing. 'This
is going to h1' a very cool park. And it
will be nailed after a very cool
person.
