Cleaning up for Earth Day
Each year, Lambton Shores friends and
neighbours come together around Earth Day
to tidy up the municipality. Over the winter, a
lot of trash blows Into our ditches, roadways
and public spaces. The Lambton Shores
Communities in Bloom committee and local
businesses host community Trash Bashes
to clean up this trash with a bit of fun and
community spirit thrown in. Shown here Is
the annual Trash Bash in Grand Bend at the
Riverbend Bar and Grill. Pitching in are (L -R)

Diamond Jubilee for former reeve
Master Warrant Officer Robert William Fisher (Zurich, Ontario) here with Huron Bruce
MP Ben Lobb - is being honoured for this distinguished military career and for his
contributions to the community. Fisher served for 27 years in the Canadian Army and
was highly sought after for his explosive ordinance expertise and leadership skills.
Following his military career Fisher returned to Zurich and served as a volunteer fire
fighter for 12 years and went on to become Reeve of Zurich for 15 years and Warden
of Huron County. He was also president of the Zurich & District Chamber of Commerce
and is a good standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a successful
business owner and actively coached minor sports throughout this life. He also
served a Chief o1 the fire department in Zurich.
