The date for the event is June 15th and will be held at (;rand Bend's community gym at the school. There are three age lev- els- primary, Junior and interme- diate/senior students who will learn technique and choreogra- phy in Jazz, acrobatics, hip hop and cheerleading also (cheer at the Junior and intermediate/sen- ior levels). The workshop is 45 minutes for primary level, and one hour for junior level and intermediate/senior level respectively. Expressions Dance Arts lnc. is based out of St Thomas, Ontario. They teach in the London area and throughout SW() as well as guest coaching and direction for area pro dance teams, public schools and universities. 'they are celebrating our 20th anniversary in business this year. Recently Expressions senior dance team and all-star Junior cheer team both competed at regional events. "We came home with a 1st place Cheerleading tro- phy at the Can Ani Cup, five dance scholarships for senior dancers to study in France this summer, one Cirque de Soleil casting audition spot, three rou- tines qualified for Dance World Cup, and a runner-up for overall Dancer of the Year. Our cheer teals also performed at the I iar- len) Globetrotters game on April 9 in Kitchener," says Elizabeth Mor- gan, Director of Expressions Dance Arts Inc. " Our cheerleaders and dancers both compete in Chatham this coming weekend, so it Is a busy week for our young athletes and artists. "As educators we are equally as commited to promoting healthy lifestyle and tfie art of movement to young people as we are to developing future working profes- sional dancer and cheerleaders. On June 15th the children will learn some techniques such as proper warm-ups, basic stretch- ing and strengthening exercises, jazz steps, funky hip hop move- ments, basic acrobatic skills and some introductory cheerleading skills also for the older workshop participants.
