Few blues musicians conte close to accumulating a resume to match that of Eddie Shaw, The tenor saxophonist got his start jamming with Ike 'T'urner's hand in the early 50s in Mississippi. When he was just 14, legend has it that Muddy Waters, who happened to he in the audience one night, was so impressed with Eddie that, on the spot, he offered hits a full time job in his world renowned band. Eddie soon established a reputation as an innova- tive player and fiery performer. A few years later, he shocked some in the blues establishment by joining I low - lin' Wolf's ferocious live hand. Eddie stayed with Wolf till Wolf died in 1976, rising to the position of bandleader and manager in the process.
