The band has an engagement for Friday night. -Wednesday of last week was the King's birthday, he being 49 years of age. The Union Jack floated over the Post Office in honor of the occasion, but the only people who took a holiday were the bankers. -Mr. W. IL Dyer, formerly of Lon- don, who has purchased the business conducted by Mr. A. Id. Crawford for several years, has taken possession and has moved his family here. -Yesterday morning a young man was summoned before Police Magistrate Morton on charge of fast driving on the Main Street the evening previus. He pleaded guilty and was fined one dollar and costs. -A cyclone. of terrific violence Strik- ing at a point about two miles north of Woodstock early Saturday evening, causing the death of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bartley and the destruction of property to the value of $7,000. -Miss E. M.
