Old time hockey!
• ft was no ordinary hockey game during the
Grand Bend winter carnival. Advertised as the
'Old timers' hockey between Exeter and Grand
Bend —Exeter White Squirrels did not show up.
Some of the competitors thought the reason
may have been that NHLers Gerry Desjardins
and Owen Lessard were going to play for the
Grand Bend team. On the Colonial parking lot,
with authentic NHL music, a creative Stanley
cup, and hockey fans cheering- two teams
made up what could be a fun, new event for
the popular carnival.

Frosty home runs
It was cold it was snowing and it was a
typical weekend of snowball at the Grand
Bend winter carnival. Many of the players
who hit the bases in the summer came
out to play in the snow.
