Braving the cold the group met at the boat launch beside Purdy's at 8 a.m. for the unfurling of the flags. The brain child of 1)avid and Cecily Boyle, this celebration has grown each year. Mons than 20 flags, representative of those who participate and family abroad, were unrolled slowly in front of the Yacht Club web calm. When every flag is displayed the grout) gives an enthusias- tic wave to any friends and family who may be watching. The Boyles have family in Australia and South \Vales and to enable them to watch the event live, an 8 a.m. start is needed. With a daughter now living in Denmark a Dan- ish flag has been added; it was hoped that she was able to set' it. Other participants have family in England, Ger- many, Brazil and 1n the United States to 011111' just a few countries. Following the flan the celebration continues at Aunt (;ussie's where all enjoy breakfast hosted by David and Cecily. No, we don't have a ground hog but are promised it visit from I3en(1uin in 2014 so watch this space!
