It was a breakfast of champi-
ons last week as Aunt Gussies
and the Chamber of Commerce
hosted the second annual may-
or's breakfast. MPP Monte
McNaughton, Lambton Warden
'lo(Id Case, mayor Bill Weber and
deputy mayor Elizabeth Davis-
1)agg took to the podium with
Chamber president Glen Baillie
as MC. Ellison Travel sponsored
the event.
The breakfast goers included
the Forest BIA and local
businesses.
McNaughton said as a past
president of the Strathroy Cham-
ber of Commerce, this is an
organization he believes in very
much. He talked about his fam-
ily business with a small busi-
ness background, and one where
customer service is paramount.
He said the services of the prov-
ince should be equally provided
with no different access to health
care, education or government
programs and services. Ile told
the crowd the province will go
hack February 19th and it is then
"they can get back to work for
the people of Ontario." Ile said
he wants questions answered
regarding Ornge, 1: -health and
the gas fired electric plants in
Mississauga and Oakville. He
also touched on the 500,000 men
and women who are unem-
ployed or 011 welfare.
When the mayor spoke he
gave kudos to all the work the
Chamber and MA do for the area
and touched on the good things
happening in Lambton Shores.
Beginning with the gold rating
for the Legacy (:entre in the
1.EED building program in lead-
ership energy and environmen-
tal design. Ile gave thanks to
Lambton Shores staff for work-
ing towards that end showing
this facility is efficient and an
investment in the future.
Weber said within the Recrea-
tion and Leisure Master Plan,
they are moving forward with
two great partners this year
building a Spray Pad in Arkona
and completing the Baseball
project in Grand Bend and coun-
cil also funded an X -park in. For-
est and have partnered with the
Forest Optimists for it new spray
pad in Forest this year. In devel-
opment he said the Rice Group
Development is proceeding with
Newport Landing, McCann's
development behind the Grand
Bend Community I lealth Centre
is looking great and the new
owners of South Bend estates are
ready to start development and
hopes council does whatever
possible to help to make this
move forward. Ile added that
1larbourside Village is nearly
fully built out with the next phase
started and they have added 95
new residential units in Lamb -
ton Shores in 2012. Weber said

the huge concern this year being the

economic development saving she is
seeing some encouraging things in
Lambton Spoil's including an economic
development group that has 1101 been
formed vet. She feels their needs to be
better communication including a stole
user friendly municipal web site with ,►
better search engine. She said a passion

boards erected on the closed stores and
would like t0 see businesses (scout

work with local artists and interested
young people. "When we succeed, you
succeed," she told the forum. During
the questions Property manager Bill
Norris asked Davis-Dagg how she was
going to quantify the successes in
growth, "i lave you been able to deter-
mine goals'?" he asked Davis-Dagg

build industrial you will have jobs- with
jolts you have residential- with that it
prompts commercial. "We need to

Business owner (Glen Baillie asked
about the contrast of people coaling
here to live, wanting to work from home
and the deputy's desire to quash cell
towers. Davis-1)agg said the cell tower
was a hot issue but thinks cell towers
should not be built in cors' areas, such
as the one being built in Port 1 '.s.
