Each year the Huron County
Museum celebrates Family tic 1 ieritage
I)ay on the 3rd Mondry in February. '1'o
celebrate this special day, the l luron
County Museum will be open oil
Monday, February 18th frons 10:00 and
to 4:00 pn1 with free admission for all
visitors,
Bring your friends and family to
explore your local museum and
history. Enjoy "A t larbour Adventure"
with various marine activities. Learn
knot tying & semaphore signaling, spell
your name with the International Flag
Alphabet, explore the Museum for
marine facts, and make a craft to take
home. Before you leave, enjoy some
warm apple cider and a snack.
Also that day, enjoy our temporary
exhibit, "Colne Play A While..:l'oys You
Loved " Ennjoy childhood nlenmories
and toys from across lluron County on
loan from boys and girls; old and young;
neighbours, friends and fanmily. 'she toys
on display are thanks to people from
across lluron County who brought their
toys to the Museum for this exhibit.

accepting funding applications

Lanlbton's new Creative County Committee is
open for business, now accepting fu11(11ng
applications for projects that will improve heritage,
arts and cultural vitality in the community.
75 -thousand dollars in funding is available.
Application forms and funding guidelines can be
found on the Creative County page of the County's
website.
"'the Committee hopes to receive proposals that
will establish it new community event, heritage
celebration, book, art festival, (musical production
or theatrical play." says County of l,:umbton General
Manager of Cultural Services Robert 'Tremain.
"We're looking for projects that explore Lambton
(.Otltlty's identity and celebrate the way we live."
Following through on one of the chief recom-
mendations of the County's Cultural Plan, the
Creative County Colnnlittee was established by
Lambton County Council in 2012. It's made up of
five local residents and five County Councillors
and provides (matching funds to assist with projects
that demonstrate partnership and confirmed
sponsorship.
