OPP remind public to be vigilant with door to door visitors
OPP
If something seems too good to be true, it likely is. Lambton
County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reminds people to be
wary of anyone corning to your door uninvited, with the
purpose of saving you money or helping you out with house-
hold appliances even though you haven't called for their help.
Use caution when considering allowing a stranger into your
home, or with what you are willing to say or do in reference to
your home when a stranger conies by looking to help you.
Don't be pressured into allowing thein access to your home or
access to your private information just because that person
says he or she can help you save money.
Lambton OPP has responded to calls about strangers who
are going to homes and using high pressure tactics to try to
gain entry in order to inspect appliances inside.
Always remember that you are in charge of your home.
