tions at Bluewater 1lealth, Sarnia on Jan.
23, as it declared an end to an outbreak of
influenza in its General Medicine unit
(MEM)(. Family members of patients on

team involved in managing this outbreak,"
says 1 lelen Shaw, Manager; Infection Con-
nol. "I)ue to measums to protect staff and
patients and enhanced cleaning efforts the
outbreak was contained and 00 new cases
resulted after the first day:'
Public i lealth officials remind us that it
is still early in the Influenza season, and
although we are currently seeing fewer
cases them is a possibility of a second wave
of influenza in the coining weeks, so it is
important to remain vigilant. Everyone is
asked to use hand sanitizer when entering
and leaving the hospital. Please do not
conte to the hospital to visit loved ones if
you are exhibiting symptoms of influenza.
1nust conte to the hospital, and have
ons of influenza, please put on a
mask and clean your hands at the entrance
and notify your healthcare providers. For
information on where you can get the
influenza vaccine, please contact Com -
infinity 1 lealth Services at 519-: 3-ti331.
Members of the community should
continue to conte to Bluewater 1 lealth for
scheduled tests and procedures. Cancel-
ling or delaying tests or procedures may
put a patient at much more risk than coin-
ing into Bluewater 1 lealth when infection
comml measures air in place.
