Over two hundred people attended the St.
Joseph and Area Historical Society's annual
Breakfast in the Park at St. Joseph, Saturday,
August 13th. Actors dressed in period
costumes greeted peoplo throughout the . .
morning and entertained with songs front
the play, "Narcisse". Mike Miller, prestdelrt
of the Historical Society, welcomed and
thanked everyone for attending the
Breakfast. Marc Cantin also expressed his
appreciation for the support and interest
shown for the historical significance of
our village and for Canada's newest saint,
St. Andre.The new statue of St. Andre was
then blessed and dedicated by Fr. Richard
Charrette. Mozart Gelinas read the "Ode to
St. Andre", a poem based on the memories
of his father's father. To end a day filled with
good food, fellowship and a true sense of
community, Mike Miller drew the names of
the winners of the fundraiser: 1st prize bust
of St. Andre won by Barbara Rate, Dashwood
ON; 2nd prize and 3rd prizes plaques of St.
Andre won by Joe Kenny of Niagara -on -the
Lake and Sylvia Lauzon of Blenheim. Shown

of St. Andre.
