Cut. The report outlined the history of these issues, a long term strategy for ice management and the short and long term strategy in dealing with keeping the chan- nel open for boating. With regards to the boating traffic on the Ausable River Cut, it was noted that staff from the Community Services Department were able to identify a passage or channel around the primary sedimentation area that provides a consistent depth of 2,5 to 3 feet, sufficient to allow most boats to pass up and down the river. This channel has been marked with channel markers. Coun- cillor Bonesteel expressed his disappoint- ment that the Ministry of Natural Resources would not grant an "emergency dredging permit to allow a more safer boating chan- nel along the "Cut" to the lake. I.anlbton Shores has requested that ARCA undertake a project to review and update the Port Franks Ausable River Ice Management Study Report (latest revision September 2009).
