It just might be crazy, but that is a
signature for local songstress Ms. Vicky,
not only here in Grand Bend, but in the
USA. Known for her amazing rendition
of Patsy Cline's Crazy, Vicky Schloen-
dorf has just returned from Pontiac
Michigan where she opened for
Motown's Charles Davis, (Contours),
Mark Scott (Miracles), Spider Turner
(original singer of Stand By Me) and
the Original Vandellas, Annette Beard -
Helton and Rosalind Ashford -1 lolnn•s.

Carswell, she was excited to be asked for her

at the Crofoot Ballroom. Franks has always had
a musical party at his Denton lake Michigan
home but his brother Tom was hosting this
party and it was going to be big with 500 in
attendance, A week alter, Vicky received
another e-mail asking if she would like to open
the show.
Earl and Vicky arrived in Pontiac and to the
Crofoot for 4 p.m. rehearsal for the 8 p.m. show.
She was assigned a very distinctive bodyguard
and then introduced to the headliners, only to
he greeted with hugs and jokes and what Vicky
said was the warmest welcome she could ever

imagine. She shared a dressing room with the
Vandellas.
When her stint was over, she decided to watch
the rest of the show with the audience of hun-
dreds. She was approached and told Mark Scott
wanted to see her. Ile thanked her for joining
them and said when she started to sing, every
dressing room door opened and the headliners
all came out to hear her "Crazy': She was Invited
to sing with Charles Davis and will do so this
winter.
Vicky began singing here in the Bend on her
46th birthday and continues to do so months
before her 65th birthday. She played at River -
bend Bar and (rill for ten years, the Colonial,
many benefits, charities and loves everything
from her signature Patsy (;line, 50s and 60s and
now Motown.
