Council discussion
Counc. Martin Underwood said
this is bad tinting to be bringing this
up right after the budget. Deputy
mayor Elizabeth Davis Dagg said
4111y:ounc. Ruth 11tman said the mileage
of .55 cents per kilometre is fair, a
pretty good rate and "We didn't get
in this to get rich. We are paid well as
a council," She said even at a mere
$45 per special meeting - it could
add up.
The motion of the extra meetings
was lost.
Counc. Lorie Scott asked about
their tour to New Hamburg and asked
why that mileage was not paid.
Mayor Bill Weber said it was not
sanctioned by the council -it was
never discussed at council to let the
public or council know about it. It
was an invitation sent out in short
notice -by e-mail.
At the Tri -Municipal orientation in
Crediton on March 18, it was agreed
that there could be a future trip to
see the Tilbury facility as this is the

same plant that is being proposed for
Grand Bend.
Underwood said he needs a
clear understanding as to what
they can claim and what they
can't adding he also submitted his
$12 lunch receipt for the day and
that was not paid.
Weber said a meeting must be dis-
cussed at council and decided upon.
Pre -approved as a council."
Scott and Counc. John Russell
argued this was a tour to educate
and that mileage should be paid in
this case. He said this is a whole
new era and they are an aggressive
council. The vote came down to
Counc. Inman and Doug Cook vot-
ing against the mileage being paid
for this trip.
