They will mentor grade five pupils in the correct assembly of bird feeders using small battery driven power tools. At the end of the day, the students will have learned to think about nature around them. They will also feel comfortable using hand power tools. In addition, all the pupils Involved will take their handcrafted item proudly home. Jim DeZorzi has just finished showing Storm Hunte (left) and Sydney Magee (right) at Bosanquet Public School how to assemble their very own bird feeder. Both thought that the battery operated screwdrivers were quite easy to handle. They are determined to stock the feeders with bird food all winter. At Grand Bend Public school a proud group of pupils displays their just completed feeders. Since the Lake Smith Conservationists had bought that particular machine in the first place, they were approached again by Museum staff to see if the LSC could help out again. Since laminated material is used extensively for the Museum's children's programming, Lake Smith member readily agreed to donate $2000 for the purchase of a new laminator. Here LHM's curator Laurie Webb is showing LSC president Ross Hayter how the laminator has already been put to good use for this year's Museum Christmas programme. 41/11, ATTENTION ADVERTISERS!
