The GBWI donation was the result of the hotdog sale at the Thanksgiving Farmers' Mar- Clillt on October 8. In addition to this ionation, money was also given to an Emergency Fund so badly needed for the Goderich residents. The Grand Bend Horticulture mem- bers Cecily and David Boyle gave an interesting presentation to the WI members. The slide presentation and cotnmentary told of the work of this group of volunteers. A ROSE (Rural Ontario Sharing Education) pro- gram will be held November 12 from 10 to 3. This course will teach how to make an "X" quilt. The Felting course proved to be successful. 'Ihe display case at the Grand Bend library maintained by the Grand Bend Women's Institute contains a collection of thim- bles. These thimbles, most of them porcelain but some plastic are part of the collection of two of aur WI, members, Ruby I.agerwerf and Elaine Wardle. While travelling Elaine became interested in thimbles, as they are easy souvenirs to pack in a suitcase. This thimble display will remain until mid November. A very favourable treasurers report was given concerning the Thanksgiving Farmers' Market. President Donna explained that Dungannon WI is asking for help to make quilts for residents of Goderich that suffered loss in the tornado. Karen Waters capa- bly presented "Life Is Like That". She quoted Robt. Bateman. Nature is beautiful, Nature is cruel, but Nature doesn't know it. Our next WI meeting is November 17 at 1:30 at the Grand Bend Adult Centre.
