Bluewater Recycling Association Association Wins North American .Silver Award of Excellence from SWANA Lakeshore Advance The Bluewater Recycling Association received the prestigious 2011 Silver Recycling Systems Excel- lence Award from the Solid Waste Association of North America. The award was presented to Board Chair- person George Robertson at the annual WASTECON conference held in Nash- ville, 'I'lnnessee on August 22, 2011, SWANA's Excellence Awards Program recog- nizes outstanding solid waste programs and facili- ties that advance the prac- tice of environmentally and economically sound solid waste management through their commitment to utt lzing effective tech- nologies and processes in system design and opera- tions advancing worker and cornnundtyhealth and safety, and implementing successful public educa- tion and outreach pro- grams. Programs also must demonstrate that they are fiscally and envi- ronmentally responsible through their compliance with all applicable federal, provincial and local regulations. All of our members are proud of this successful effort in achieving the highest level of excellence in solid waste manage- ment. This is no small accomplishment given the excellent quality of this year's nominations and the challenges faced by many of the programs and oper- ations in the solid waste industry.
