Arkona Lions Club's Seven Annual
Car Show and Community Day and
the Arkona Lions Museum and Infor-
mation Centre's 25th Anniversary.
The Antiques Roadshow television
show has experts travel to a location
to provide information on antiques.
The Community Day at Rock Glen
Conservation Area in Arkona, on the
other hand, will have fossil and arti-
fact experts attending to provide you
with information about your keep-
sakes. Another display will feature
information on Ausable River mus-
sels, Organizers invite you to come
see The Fossil Guy (Bob O'Donnell),
The Artifacts Guy - Flint Knappin
and Artifact Identification (Ron Watt
and The Mussels Gal -- Ausable River
Mussels (Kari Jean). The displays run
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m,
The public is invited to have cake at
a short ceremony to celebrate the 25th
anniversary of the museum at 11 a.m.
Arkona Lioness Club will also have
food available for purchase at the food
booth,

(courtesy of Arkona Lions Club). The Arkona Lions and
Lioness clubs will also provide a special commemorative
Arkona Lions Museum 25th Anniversary key chain to the
first 250 spectators.
For car enthusiasts entering the car show, the admission
is only $5 and there are dash plaques and goodie bags to
first 100 cars entered.
Organizers hope this special anniversary -edition event
will draw as many as 200 classic cars, according to event
co -organizers Bruce Redman and Cliff Ryan. "This is an
opportunity for the community to join together and cele-
brate 25 years of history and enjoy an active family day free
of charge,' said Redman. "This is a chance to honour the
people who have created this wonderful natural area and
tourist attraction and to see beautiful waterfalls, have a
hike, learn lots at displays, and see some cars lovingly
restored by their owners."
Rock Glen Conservation Area is site of majestic Rock
Glen Falls.
"The car show will help us travel back in time with clas-
sic cars reminding us of great times and great music and
the fossils in the museum will help us travel back in time
tens of million years ago to the days of creatures like trilo-
bites that existed when this part of North America was
beneath a shallow, saltwater sea," said Ryan.
The Arkona Lions Seventh Annual Car Show takes place
on Saturday, September 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rock
Glen Conservation Area, 8680 Rock Glen Road. For more

The organizing committee for the Arkona Uons and Lioness Clubs' Seventh Annual
Car Show and Community Day, and the Arkona Lions Museum and Information Centre
25th Anniversary, have been working on special attractions as part of this year's
anniversary -year event on Saturday, September 17. The committee announced this
week that the The Fossil Guy (Bob O'Donnell), The Artifacts Guy — Flint Knapping and
Artifact Identification (Ron Watt) and The Mussels Gal —Ausable River Mussels (Karl
Jean, of Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority), will all have displays at this special
community day at Rock Glen Conservation Area In Arkona. The organizing committee
is shown in and around Bruce Redman's 1965 Valiant Signet two -door hard -top classic
automobile. They are (left to right): Cliff Ryan, Organizing Committee Chairman; Bruce
Redman, Car Show Organizer; Glenn Stott, Volunteer Curator, Arkona Lions Museum
