Widder Station was the location of the June 22nd I luron
Country Playhouse Guild meeting. The lush green golf
environment set an appropriate stage for our guest speakers,
Bob and Kimberley Green, the new owner/operators of our
local Grand Bend Sobeys. Bob shared that he and Kimberley
possess an "extraordinary passion for family, food and
people.' The Greens assumed ownership of the store in
December 2010 and recently purchased a house in Grand

customer service. Bob stressed the
importance of completing online
customer surveys. This tool provides
critical information regarding their
specific store and prompts the changes
that are initiated to improve customer

fresh quality products. Aisles are now
free of clutter and provide more space
for buggy access. Exterior painting was
completed to provide a visually appeal-
ing entry. Both Kimberley and Bob
stressed the importance of using "the
eye of a customer" to determine
improvements. Bob recognized the
customer service skills of his employees
as a strength area of the store. Sobeys
Grand Bend employs a total of 120 peo-
ple, composed of regular and seasonal
staff 'Ihe Greens "work the floor" and
enjoy meeting customers and talking

grocery trips to the store. Mary Cardiff
was the lucky winner of a Sobeys gift
basket donated by Bob and Kimberley.
The Giant Book Sale committee
chaired by Monica Carter shared that
they are well stocked and ready to sell.
'Ihe sale will occur July 1st from 11:(X)am
to 6:OOpm and July 2nd from 9:O0atn to
4:O0pm. 'Ihe location is the Grand Bend
Legion. Members were encouraged to
attend with family and friends; there
will be something of interest for
everyone. It Is an opportunity to stock
up on books, music and games that will
contribute to a relaxing and interesting
summer!
'Ihe Guild Gala is returning May 17th,
2012. Tickets will go on sale in Septem-
ber, Don't miss out on this sought after
event. Get your tickets early!
140 guild members and friends
attended the opening of hairspray at
the Playhouse Theatre. 'l'hey had an
opportunity to experience the renova-
tions and enjoy an incredible perform-
ance. This summer, visitors to Iluron
Country Playhouse will be treated to a
very professional and comfortable
experience. The Guild Shop will open
June 25th. All funds raised are contrib-
uted to enhance our local theatre.
The next meeting is August 24th at
the Sandhills Golf and Country Club,
We encourage community members to
join us and become involved in our
efforts to enhance the arts in our area.
