Spice Girls from Mitchell at Queensway
"The Spice Girls" from Mitchell area
provided a entertaining afternoon for
"For if, when we were God's enemies,
we were reconciled to Him through
the death of His Son, how much
more, having been reconciled, shall
we be saved through His life!"
(Romans S:10)
Queensway's Mothers Day event
on Saturday May 7th. Residents
with their family & friends filled
the Activation room for the music
& comedy of The Spice Girls.
Lemon & date squares along with
Ginger cookies baked at Baking
group were served with a choice of
lemonade or tea in our good china
tea cups. The afternoon was also
used as a opportunity for a number
of precious family group photos.
"Katie's Unique Boutique" was also
set up in the Retirement Home
Activation Room throughout the
day with a variety of purses & jew-
elry for that special woman in eve-
ryone's life.
Monday morning an eager group
gathered in the sunroom for their
exercises. Residents are looking
forward to better weather & the
opportunity to have the exercise
group held outdoors on the Deck
area. Bingo with the Hensall United
Church women filled the after-
noon and following the games the
ladies held their Friendship Circle
Mtg. Lori Burt, Registered Massage
Therapist, provided service for sev-
eral Residents throughout the day.
Tuesday morning Queensway's
Volunteer Auxiliary & Family
Council met to preview the May
Calendar & discuss a number of
issues. Among them the new proc-
ess for providing proof of current
vaccinations for any animal visit-
ing Queensway. Long Term Regu-
lations & Queensway have always
required proof but our process is
new with small laminated cards
displaying expiration date of vacci-
nations, to be worn by animals
while onsite visiting. Our goal is
implementation of this procedure
by May 31st. Rev. Paul Ross of Exe-
ter United Church lead Worship

Joyce Pepper as volunteer pianist.
In the evening Michelle was in for
one to one visits & games.
Baking group was busy Wednes-
day baking delicious cookies for
the Mothers Day Tea. In the
evening Rev. Marybeth Wilson lead
a Memorial Service honouring
deceased Residents Mildred Gin-
gerich, Pat Wedge, and Hilda Wil-
liams. Volunteer Francis Kinsman
played piano for the Service com-
prised of Marybeth's message, spe-
cial music & sharing of memories.
Following current events on
Thursday morning Food Commit-
tee met to discuss various food
related topics. The Committee will
be having an extra meeting in May
as the new Spring menus will soon
be implemented and Residents
will review & give their input
regarding any adaptations or
changes which may be needed.
Sensory Smoothies were enjoyed
by several Residents in the after-
noon and Reading & Reminisce
program was provided.
Friday afternoon the Library/

Unit with many magazines, books
