(Romans S:10) Queensway's Mothers Day event on Saturday May 7th. Residents with their family & friends filled the Activation room for the music & comedy of The Spice Girls. Lemon & date squares along with Ginger cookies baked at Baking group were served with a choice of lemonade or tea in our good china tea cups. The afternoon was also used as a opportunity for a number of precious family group photos. "Katie's Unique Boutique" was also set up in the Retirement Home Activation Room throughout the day with a variety of purses & jew- elry for that special woman in eve- ryone's life. Monday morning an eager group gathered in the sunroom for their exercises. Residents are looking forward to better weather & the opportunity to have the exercise group held outdoors on the Deck area. Bingo with the Hensall United Church women filled the after- noon and following the games the ladies held their Friendship Circle Mtg. Lori Burt, Registered Massage Therapist, provided service for sev- eral Residents throughout the day. Tuesday morning Queensway's Volunteer Auxiliary & Family Council met to preview the May Calendar & discuss a number of issues. Among them the new proc- ess for providing proof of current vaccinations for any animal visit- ing Queensway. Long Term Regu- lations & Queensway have always required proof but our process is new with small laminated cards displaying expiration date of vacci- nations, to be worn by animals while onsite visiting. Our goal is implementation of this procedure by May 31st. Rev. Paul Ross of Exe- ter United Church lead Worship Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. with Joyce Pepper as volunteer pianist. In the evening Michelle was in for one to one visits & games. Baking group was busy Wednes- day baking delicious cookies for the Mothers Day Tea. In the evening Rev. Marybeth Wilson lead a Memorial Service honouring deceased Residents Mildred Gin- gerich, Pat Wedge, and Hilda Wil- liams. Volunteer Francis Kinsman played piano for the Service com- prised of Marybeth's message, spe- cial music & sharing of memories. Following current events on Thursday morning Food Commit- tee met to discuss various food related topics. The Committee will be having an extra meeting in May as the new Spring menus will soon be implemented and Residents will review & give their input regarding any adaptations or changes which may be needed. Sensory Smoothies were enjoyed by several Residents in the after- noon and Reading & Reminisce program was provided. Friday afternoon the Library/ Tuck Cart traveled throughout the Unit with many magazines, books & treats available for those desiring then.
