Currently the property at 47 Main Street east has a service and the 49 Main Street property has a stub at the raod but they will require additional capacity for the apartment building. "We plan to submit the site plan and zoning application by the end of May 2011, said a letter from McCann to the municipality. He says this building will be geared for seniors over 55 and they anticipate a December 2011 start of construction. In background, McCann explained in late 2007 they began construction on a three storey apart- ment building ('1'owerview Apart- ments) in the Municipality of South Huron and the first tenants moved in December 2008. 'Ihe proposed building for Grand Bend is anticipated to be a similar size. The Exeter building has 49 units with a common room and large lobby area. All units have their own laundry facilities and all appli- ances are included. "We would be looking for a capacity of approxi- mately 45m3 in the sewage system for the Grand Hend building," said McCann. 'the problem, as council discussed is that there is only 36112 capacity at the Grand Bend lagoon. Councilors Martin Underwood and John Rus- sell asked how long the shelf life was for the developments that currently have capacity. Planner Patti Rich- ardson said once they get their final approvals- that's it- the capacity is theirs and can't be taken away. Mayor Hill Weber said McCann have gone through this process before in Exeter and Richardson said the purpose of the letter was for, this company to let council know\ their intentions. The issue she says, if they get the go head- they will need capacity. CONTINUED > PAGE 2
