ZURICH - A great retirement party
was held for Irvin Steinmann on Fri-
day, April 1 at the Dashwood Com-
munity Centre with family members,
relatives and friends attending. Cow-
orkers (past and present) from the
Blue Water Rest I tome joined in. Irvin
is missed for his cheerful smile and
witty humour as he was worked at the
home for 31 years. Everyone enjoyed
a great meal, friendship and live music
by Martin Gelinas.
A nice awards ceremony for those
who took part in the recent Big Brother
"Bowl for Kids Sake" was held at the
Adult Resource Centre in Dashwood
on April 7 with a good turnout from
the area.
There is going to be a "Spring
Enrichment Day for the women of
the Zurich Mennonite Church in
Wellesley at the Maple -view Mennon-
ite Church on Sat., April 16.
The fellowship committee is
putting on a games night on Friday,
April 15 at 7 p.m.
Several high school students and
young adults from St. Boniface Parish
travelled by bush on April 9 to 'Ibr nito
and attended the "Lift Jesus !Ugh" rally
along with their leaders for the day.
Be sure and get your tickets for the
annual Lions Club fish fray and silent
auction to be held at the Zurich com-
plex on Fri., April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Saturday evening masses will start
at St. Peter's (St. Joseph) on April 16 at
5 p.m, each week for the summer
months.

ning at 10 a.m.
Students from the 'Zurich Public
School attended the almiginal music
presentation on April 5 at the Exeter
Public School.
The Community Connections
mobility bus from Outreach Services
in Zurich has been busy travelling to
various places with driver Bonnie. On
April 7, we enjoyed going to the Maple
Synip Festival in Belmore. On April 14
is a community luncheon at South
1luron I lospital and a book sale in St.
Marys on April 15.
The bus is off to Goderich on April
21 and then to see the fruit trees in
blossom on April 28 in Arkona.

tives of the late Willie Overholt, Zurich,
who died on April 1.

relatives of the late Jean-Paul Cantin,
R1t2 Zurich who died on April 1.
A buck and doe was held for Court-
ney Overholt and Justin LaPorte on
Fri., April 8 at the complex. Courtney
is the daughter of Mike and Charlene
Overholt and Justin is the son of
Dwayne and Theresa LaPorte all of
Zurich. The couple is planning to be
married in June.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
goes out to Gwen McKellar and Mar-
tha Craig who have been in the
hospital.
Lewis and Marlene Gingerich
returned home recently after spend-
ing two weeks in South Bend, Indiana
with their son, David and Rachelle
Gingeric•h and family.
It is nice to see John and Shari Rol-
land are txak again after spending the
past month in Florida.

A surprise 25th anniversary party
was held for Barb and Robert Smith at
Precious Blood Church Mall in Exeter
on April 2. Several relatives and friends
attended. Barb is the daughter of Joan
and Clarence Refer and Robert is the
son of Cecilia and Gordie Smith, all
fmm Zurich.

Mitchell on April 2 who was 92 years
old and was in a nursing home.
Jerry Rader returnees home recently
faun a vacation in Florida.

occasion of their 60th wedding anni-
versary at the Mennonite church fel-
lowship hall on Sun., April 17 from
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friends from the
community are invited to drop by and
say hello.

A nice family birthday supper was
held at the home of Carrie Eybergen
in Grand Bend on April 3 in honour of
daughter Brittany's 25th birthday. (;ar-
rie's sister 'tiffany Eybergen also spent
the weekend from Chicago.
