Story:With the idea that Not So Pro may be coaling to
council brought forth a Lambton Shores delegation from
those that do not want commercialized uses on the
beach.
"It has come to our attention that the Not So Pro organi-
zation is again looking to use the North Beach this sum-
mer;" Sharon Weitzel , Grand fiend Community Associa-
tion, told council last week. She said last year the Lambton
Shore Community Association provided Council with a
detailed summary of the concerns and issues that came
forward during the Not So Pro Event. The LSCA still has a
large number of concerns about Not So Pro. "'This is an
outstanding issue and we would like an opportunity to
present our memberships' concerns with these types of
events to Council."
They are requesting from council that no approval of
any Not So Pro event take place for 2011. The package to
council included a list of issues and concerns provided to
us by members and visitors, photographs supplied by resi-
dents of the 2010 Not So Pro beach usage and a letter from
Lambton Shores Community Association describing the
49sue of the Eccleston Covenant. Ida Eccleston was the Go-
ner of the 1917 Lakeview Casino. Upon her death in Jul78, the portion of Plan 24 (Grand Bend proper
the North Beach, was donated to the Corporation of the
Village of Grand Bend for $2.00. and was subject to a
covenant.
Mayor Bill Weber said there has been no approval as of
yet for Not So Pro for this year and there are still legal
advice to be sought. 'this information was deferred to the
beach management project and the mayor told Weitzel
they should have that back within the next few weeks.
