The South luron I lospital Foundation
presented their second offering of a major
event for the community last week, exceed-
ing their $40,000 goal. 'Ibis event is a "sub-
tle" way to raise money for the hospital and
also to broaden the awareness of the Foun-
dation's purposes and plans for the future.
Foundation chair Bruce Shaw explained the
support from this body for health care in
this catchment area can have nothing to do
with operations, staffing or supplies. This
group must concentrate their efforts on
items not covered by the province such as
the purchase of two heart defibulators; the
wish list for this year's event. It was a gala
evening with Darren Kints and Jeff Keller as
the sometimes witty and very comical
emcees.
