Hudak says PCs would offer energy choice
Leader slams Liberal
$1 billion tax grab for
smart meters
Claiming that smart teeter implementation costs
have already exceeded S1 billion, Conservative
leader, Tim Hudak is promising Ontario families
an energy choice that works for them.
"The smart meter program is Just a tax machine
that crossed the $1 billion mark," he said during a
brief stop in Goderich late Thursday afternoon in
front of the transformer station on Highway 8.
"Broken down per household, families are paying
well over $200 to have a smart meter on the side of
their house. We will unplug the smart meter
program and give families a choice of paying a flat
rate or for time of use."
With the provincial government not in session
this week at the Legislature, and with less than 200
days to the Provincial election Oct. 6, I ludak was
on a whirlwind tour of southwestern Ontario that
included stops in Chatham, St. 'Thomas, London,
Aylmer, Stratford, Goderich and Kincardine.
In his brief prepared statement, Hudak made it
clear that the McGuinty government's "energy
experiments" are causing the hydro bills of
hard-working families to skyrocket adding that the

LEAF PICKUP PROGRAM
Spring Program 2011
Lambton Shores' residents: Please be advised that leaves raked
onto the street or piles in the street or ditch will not be collected.
This poses a danger to pedestrians, bicycles and motorists and
can cause drainage problems. Leaves can be bagged for pickup
by the Community Services Department. This program Is In effect
April 4th - May 27 , and Is as follows:
1. All leaves must be bagged In clear plastic bags.
2. Each bag must be tagged with 'A a garbage sticker.
3. Only leaves will be picked up; not garbage or brush
please.
4. All bags must be placed at the curb for pickup.
5. Leaves will be picked up sometime during the week as
time and quantity dictate.
If your leaves are missed please call 519-243-1400, toil free 1-888-
943-1400 or the municipal office nearest you and pickup will be
arranged.

COMPOST SITE
HOURS OF OPERATION
The Lambton Shores Compost Site will be
open on both Saturdays and Wednesdays
from 9:OOam to 2:OOpm starting April 9,
2011 until November 28, 2011 (weather
permitting).
The site is located at 7550 Brush Road
adjacent to the Forest Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
Leaves and brush materials will be
accepted. Brush and wood must be bundled
and no longer than 4 feet in length.
Ratepayers (no businesses of the
Municipality of Lambton Shores can pick up
compost and wood chips.

PCs call for the Liberals to conduct a
forensic audit on the Debt Retirement

should know how much has been paid,
what's left to pay on debt retirement and
when that charge will be removed from
hydro bills he said,
"Tb give families and seniors a break,
we've also called to pull the plug on the
mandatory smart meter tax machines,"
he said. " Not every senior can get up at

dishes. Not every parent can scramble

market opened in 2002, generators have
been paid millions for not producing
power, paid trillions more for not
importing power and one generator
reaped millions by switching itself off,
then back on.

The water level in already -low Lake
Huron could decline up to 12 inches
(30.5 cm) this summer, impacting
shipping and boaters on both sides of
the border.
Powerful storms early in the winter

the Sarnia Yacht Club: "Water levels do
look low, Certainly, lower than normal,
