Dragon's Den" entrepreneur will speak at South Huron Chamber dinner

There is much to look forward to
this spring for everyone associated
with the South Iluron Chamber of
Commerce (SHCC).
A dynamic local entrepreneur
whose products are used by the
world's top golfers, including Tiger
Woods, will be the guest speaker
at the Annual
General Meeting of the SHCC.
CaroLanne Doig of Seaforth will
discuss her business success and
recent appearance on CBC's
"Dragon's Den". The event will be
held on Tues., April 5 at the Royal
Canadian Legion in Exeter; cock-
tails at 5:45 p,ln. and dinner at 6:30
p.m. Tickets are $35. Also featured
at the Annual General Meeting
will be the presentation
of the Business Excellence
Awards, and the Citizenship
Award. Nominations for these
awards are now being accepted.
The business awards include
Business of the Year (two cate-
gories: under 15 employees, 15
employees and up) and Entrepre-
neur of the Year. These awards are
designed to honour the contribu-
tions made to our community by
outstanding local businesses and
business owners. The Citizen-
ship Award honours an individual
who has made a significant contri-
bution to the quality of life in our
community through volunteering
efforts.
Ellison Travel & 'fours in Exeter
will host our next Business After 5,
on April 21, 5 - 7 p.m. Business
After 5s are our popular business
open house events that provide
insights into the host businesses,
and provide valuable networking
opportunities for all attendees.

ness After 5 host, TTM Computers
of Exeter.
All are welcome to participate in
the SIECC's second annual Golf
Tournament, to be held on Tues.
May 17 at Ironwood Golf Club. Me
cost is $95 per player, which
includes a cart, 18 holes of golf,
and dinner. Mere is an Early Bird
offer: register before April 18 and
receive a discounted rate of $80.
Hopefully the weather will be as
glorious as it was for our inaugural
event last year!
The SEICC has some new addi-
tions to the Board of Directors.
Teresa Van Raay of 'lhe Whole Pig,
Tejas Patel of the Ranch House
Inn, and new municipal council
rep. Wayne DeLuca have signed
on. They join Board members

ance & Financial Services, Frank
Palen of Kenpal Farm Products,
Anne Langendyk of BMO, Steve
Boles of Kuzuka, Wayne Gaiser of
Wayne's DriDek, and Jon Gaiser of
Gaiser Kneale Insurance, Mark
Cassidy, Coordinator of Main
Streets Exeter, has been a regular,
welcome attendee at board meet-
ings and provided great ideas and
guidance. Several directors have
recently left the board: former
municipal rep. Cathy Sell),
Goderich Aircraft's Andy Orr, and
Andy McIntyre of Exeter Chrysler.
Thanks to these individuals for
their exemplary service to the
SHCC.
We welcome those interested to
attend Board meetings or consider
becoming a Director. Board meet-
ings are usually the third Tuesday
of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the
Centre for Employment and
