purchaser is a worthy recipient indeed
as he has been a volunteer committee
member, patron, and art donor since the
charitable event began more than 20
years ago.
A ceremonial presentation to mark
the sale of the first ticket for 2011 was
made by Ernie Miatello, Chairman of the
Ausable Bayfield Conservation
Foundation, to Ted Jones, of Exeter.
'there are only 410 tickets available to the
fundraising event each year and the
popular charitable dinner and auction
usually sells out early.
The purchaser of this year's first ticket
has donated a piece of his hand-crafted

work is always among the most coveted
pieces at the auction. Ile joked that if he
laid his hest work the paddle would end
up on someone's wall and if it wasn't his
best work someone might end up using
it in their canoe. Jones started carving
and creating walking sticks as fitting
pieces of art when the MacNaughton-

"Ted Jones has been a generous
volunteer, patron and donor and is a
worthy person to receive ticket number

kind of community spirit that has made
this charitable event a community

What's the key to the e'vent's success?
One key is the generosity of the

One of the most fun jobs it volunteer can
