According to Transport Canada, there were 4,169 fatalities on Canadian roads in that year. The Traffic Injury Research Foundation has estimated that 60% of the fatalities were alcohol-relat- ed (2,501), and that 40% (1,668) were non - alcohol crashes. Dr. Fell's approach assumes that if there were no declines in alcohol-related fatalities, this 60/40 ratio would remain constant. Using the number of non -alcohol crash fatalities as the base, we calculated= the number of fatalities that would have occurred had the 60/40 ratio remained constant. The difference between this figure and the actual number of traffic fatalities provides an estimate of the number of lives saved due to the reduction in alcohol-related fatalities. pr Manufacturer of eriS Precast Concrete Products • Septic Tank Pumping Service • Septic and Holding Tanks • Sewer • Water RR # 1 Lucknow • Drainage Products Tel: 519-528-3537 ' Aggregate & Decorative Stone Fax 519-528-2025 www. • • rters.ca • Ready Mix Concrete WINHAM MEMORIALS s Mac & Donna Anderson Serving Huron & Bruce Counties at your convenience, with personal understanding. 89 North St., West, VI/Ingham, 519-357-1910 1488-2503732 • "Above. all - a Home" Lucknow 519-528-2820 friends. Then she gave us a sheet that said what we would be doing. So then we had to guess where we were going. We all guessed Orlando, Florida. I was so excited but every Christmas morning my parents don't get up on time. I always have to go wake them up. But once we get to the presents it is a lot of fun. I got a Wii and some games for it and a hockey table, PS2 games. After we were done at my house, we went to my grandma's house. My whole family was there including my cousins, my aunt and uncles. They all had presents for our family and close friends. Then we went home and tried all our new stuff. Zane Murray Braun Grade 5/6 LCPS The best Christmas day ever is when I got to go see my Dad. It wasabout three years ago. I was 7 -years -old. Dad was living m Goderich and he bought me so many gifts. One of my favourites was the plastic hockey sticks so we could play in the kitchen. Then he made me go to Delta Motel. We ate in the restaurant at the motel. We had ham and I love ham. I had my favourite cake vanilla. I love being with hiin but I already told .nim that.
