Three to five of the following: Presbyterian Church, United Church, Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Baptist Church, Freedom Hall Optional: Shoe store, sewing machine repair store, bakery renowned for its but- ter tarts, bank or credit union, armoury, Tim Hortons and/or coffee house serv- ing fair-trade organic brews. Directions Assemble all ingredients, sprinkle liberally along tree -lined streets' and waterfront. Published by Harrowsmith's Truly Canaadian Almanac Kin Canada bursary ready for enrolled post secondary students The Lucknow Kinettes would like area high school motes to know that if a student is pursuing a post sec- ondary education, an application for a Kin Canada Bursary may , be submitted. The student must be enrolling full time in a recognized post secondary institu- tion in 200-2011. Application forms are available #t the high school guid- ance office, or on the kincanada.ca web- site. These forms have to be com- pleted in full and mailed to the nearest Kinsmen or Kinette club in the area. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen. The Kin club will choose one applica- tion to go to the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund Board of Trustees where the final recipients ;will be . selected. ch bursary has a ue of $1,000. Great • progress has been made in improving the qual- ity of life and the longevity of C.F. patients. Many peo- . with, . C.F now to ' muddle age or beyond. Cystic .Fibrosis patients no longer take so many pills or die as a child. A 30 -year- old Toronto area woman, Natalia Ritchie, recently received a double lung. transplant allowing her to•have a:chance at enjoying lite with her husband and new born- baby. Locally, the Kinettes are taking donations for Angels of Hope (avaiie at Shear Desig to add to the annual donation' to Cystic Fibrosis. 'A barbecue and other ptojects will be held hi the sprig. Any donation is appre- ciated l in the quest to finds the cure for Cystieribrosis. ' Most Kin funds raised are spent in the local commu- nity. Arca charities, playgrounds, and fit* lip work of Kinsmen and Kinettes . The Lucknow mattes will be canvass- ing for the Heart and Stroke Fund in February. This service project has been part of the club's activities since the early 1980s.Both the Kinsmen and Witte clubs pro- vide r+ovide a great oppor- tunity to know one's community bet- ter and to develop personal skills such as' leadership. New friendships. are a benefit of belonging to any service club. New members are always • welcome.
