1 Grocery store - very narrow aisles,
liquor concession at the back
1 Pharmacy - displaying teddy bears,
home hair colouring and canes
1 Chinese/Canadian restaurant - spe-
cializing in chicken balls and hot turkey
sandwiches
1 Restaurant - called the The Country
Kitchen
• 1 Elementary school - named after a
provincial premier
1 Secondary school. - sports teams
named "The Wolves"
1 Royal Canadian Legion
1 Library - open from 10 - 2 on
Tuesdays and Thursdays
1 Convenience store that rents mov-
ies
2 Ladies' wear stores - one called
Ellen's , one called The Boutique
1 Menswear store - named Stan
Williams Menswear
1 Hardware store
1 New w Holland or International deal-
ership
1 Kubota or John Deere dealership
1 •Feed store
1 Weekly newspaper office
1 Town hall
1 Ice cream parlour - with window to
serve customers outside in summer.
Three to five of the following:
Presbyterian Church, United Church,
Roman Catholic Church, Anglican
Church, Baptist Church, Freedom Hall
Optional: Shoe store, sewing machine
repair store, bakery renowned for its but-
ter tarts, bank or credit union, armoury,
Tim Hortons and/or coffee house serv-
ing fair-trade organic brews.
Directions
Assemble all ingredients, sprinkle
liberally along tree -lined streets' and
waterfront. Shape facades into a variety
of different architectural styles .-going
back to six to 12 generations. Allow
approximately 200 years for flavours to
combine and mellow. Enjoy.
Tip:; Adding big box retailers on the
edge of town may drastically impair
results.

pursuing a post sec-
ondary education,
an application for a
Kin Canada Bursary
may , be submitted.
The student must be
enrolling full time
in a recognized post
secondary institu-
tion in 200-2011.
Application forms
are available #t the
high school guid-
ance office, or on the
kincanada.ca web-
site. These forms
have to be com-
pleted in full and
mailed to the nearest
Kinsmen or Kinette
club in the area.
Applicants must be
a Canadian citizen.
The Kin club will
choose one applica-
tion to go to the Hal
Rogers Endowment
Fund Board of
Trustees where the
final recipients ;will
be . selected. ch

woman, Natalia
Ritchie, recently

lung. transplant

Locally, the Kinettes
are taking donations
for Angels of Hope
(avaiie at Shear
Desig to add to
the annual donation'
to Cystic Fibrosis. 'A
barbecue and other
ptojects will be held
hi the sprig. Any
donation is appre-
ciated l in the quest
to finds the cure for
Cystieribrosis. '
Most Kin funds
raised are spent in
the local commu-
nity. Arca charities,
playgrounds,
and
fit* lip
work of Kinsmen
and Kinettes . The
Lucknow mattes
will be canvass-
ing for the Heart
and Stroke Fund in
February.
This service
project has been
part of the club's
activities since the
early 1980s.Both
the Kinsmen and
Witte clubs pro-
vide
r+ovide a great oppor-
tunity to know one's
community bet-
ter and to develop
personal skills such
as' leadership. New
friendships. are a
benefit of belonging
to any service club.
