Adult. facilitators from the community also helped out. The event that took place at the Knights of Columbus hall in the Wingham arena (North Huron Wescast Community Complex) offered the young people that participated the hope of improving the quality of their time in and out of school. The students were taken through a series of experiences and 'opportu- nities so they could be open with themselves and look past their individual differences. Challenge Day is a pro- gram that is based out •of San ' 'sco and they are cunently involved in six provinces in Canada - and 48 states in the USA. Their mission statement: "To inspire people to be the change they wish. to see in the world, starting with ourselves, through compassion and service using the formula for change mike, choose, and act. "We give them a chanceto be themselves at these events. We delve into what their dreams are and what their tate feel- ings are. We just give them a chance to talk and share with no judgement." For Wilson it's better to live a life with purpose and to follow one's : dreams because it's the' only way to be truly happy. "It's nue .that a student doesn't get into the day by the end," said Wilson. "I've worked ,with over 45,000 students. It's such positive stuff we talk about to them and' we don't try and just talk their heads off. We put them in groups and give them a chance to hear from their peers and a lot of the time they have similar stories."
