leaders. Adult. facilitators
from the community also

The event that took
place at the Knights of
Columbus hall in the
Wingham arena (North
Huron Wescast
Community Complex)
offered the young people
that participated the hope
of improving the quality
of their time in and out of
school. The students were
taken through a series of
experiences and 'opportu-
nities so they could be
open with themselves and
look past their individual
differences.
Challenge Day is a pro-
gram that is based out •of
San ' 'sco and they
are cunently involved in
six provinces in Canada -
and 48 states in the USA.
Their mission statement:
"To inspire people to be
the change they wish. to
see in the world, starting
with ourselves, through
compassion and service
using the formula for
change mike, choose,

Wilson it's better to live a

to be truly happy.
"It's nue .that a student
doesn't get into the day by
the end," said Wilson.
"I've worked ,with over
45,000 students. It's such
positive stuff we talk
about to them and' we
don't try and just talk their
heads off. We put them in
groups and give them a
chance to hear from their
peers and a lot of the time
they have similar stories."
