Lucknow Beef Club members represent well at Royal Fair
Eight members of
the Lucknow Beef
Club participated in
Queen's Guineas
and National Junior
Beef Heifer Show
during the first
week of the Royal
Winter Fair.
Participating in the
Queen's Guineas
against 44 competi-
tors were Jessica
Gilchrist, Katie
Hem and Tyler and
Cole MacPherson
from Brussels Beef
Club. An exciting
day for Huron
County -as. Jessica
took top honours
and Cole was third
overall in confirma-
tion. Jessica and
Tyler also competed
in the
Showmanship
Competition.
Huron County was
recognized for first
place for their dis-
play at the market
show.
Two days later six
members of the
Lucknow Club rep-
resented Huron
County at the
National Junior
Beef Heifer Show
where they compet-
ed against close to
400 participants
across the country.
Participating were
Dylan Black,
Kristina Drennan,
Abbey Gibson,
Emily Gibson,
Melissa Maclntyre
and Brad
Maclntyre. A very
good showing by all
with Brad

Lancers win back-to-back on weekend

The Lancers
managed to pick
up two wins .on
the weekend, with
victories over the
Shallow Lake
Crushers in
Shallow Lake on
Friday night by a
score of 10 - 2 and
then picked up a
home ice win over
the Drayton
Icemen on
Saturday by a
score of 7 - 4. .
On Friday night
the Lancers had
leads of 1 - 0 after
the first period
and then 3 - 0 after
the second period
before scoring
seven goals in the
third period. Ryan
Murley led the
way with three
goals and two
assists; Mark
Stanley had three
goals along with
one assist; Luke
Drennan chipped
in with two goals
and an assist; Brad
Burton and Kyle
Quinn rounded
out the scoring for
the Lancers. Steve
Nickles picked up
the win for the
Lancers in net.
On Saturday
night in Lucknow
the first period
went scoreless.
Jonny MacKinnon
got the home team
on the board with
a goal at the 10:09
mark of the sec-
ond period with
Brad Robinson
and Kyle Quinn
assisting on the
goal.
Brad Burton got
his first of two
goals at 12:40
with Cal
McDonagh assist-
ing on the goal.
Ryan Densmore
and Mike Doran
picked up goals
for Drayton to tie
the score, Murley
picked up his first
of two goals at
13:11 with Rick
Andrew assisting
on the goal. Brad
Robinson rounded
out the scoring for
the Lancers in the
second period.
Murley picked
up his second goal
of the game on the
powerpplay at the
22 second mark,
Brian Stanley and
Jonny MacKinnon
assisted on the
goal. Brad Burton
picked his second
goal of the game
at the 1:37 mark
with Mark Stanley
