A community ,. brainstorming
session was held in Dungannon
on Nov. 12 to discuss the best way
to market the village. The meeting
was held at the Agricultural
Society Hall and it was open to
anyone that wanted to come and
put their ideas forward.
The information session was
titled, "Dungannon's Xtreme
Makeover," a community brain-
storming session to define the
community and create a vision for
a new logo= and slogan.
. "The idea for tonight is to use
the community's• perception.of the
village to develop a brand or an
image that ` represents
Dungannon," said Kerri Herrfort
the downtown revitalization coor-
dinator -for Huron County. "We
are hoping to take this brand and
put it on things like signs, ban-
ners, promotional materials for
the community and we want as
many people as possible from the
community to be part of the
process. Herrfort was acting as
the project coordinator for the
branding proj-
ect on
Thursday
evening.
WINGHAM 84 DISTRICT HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS
"Excellence in Rural Health Care"
Missing Equipment
Occasionally when patients travel from the hospital to another hospital, a nursing home, or home, they borrow
some type of mobility equipment, such as a walker, or wheelchair and cushion. This is often a busy time for
people and the equipment is not their first concem. However, we are finding increasingly that some of the hospi-
tal wheelchairs, cushions and walkers are missing and this can have a significant impact on our patient care. If
You
or a family member may have borrowed such equipment, please check your trunk, back porch, nursing
home room etc. for items belonging to Wingham Hospital. Their prompt retum is very much appreciated,
Bring Your Medications
When you are coming to the emergency department or are being admitted to the hospital, please bring all your
medications with you, both prescription and over the counter remedies. This will help us to know exactly what
medications you are taking and will improve our ability to provide the best possible safe care.
Reminder to Visitors
Visiting hours are 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. daily. Only 2 visitors per patient at a time. If you are HI, please do not
visit our patients.

Through a series ofquestions,.
the 24 people (teens, seniors,.
everyone in between mix of new
residents and long time residents)
in attendance determined what
activities take place in
Dungannon and events like the
Dungannon Tractor Pull,
Dungannon Fair, and Dungannon
Farmers' Market were. popular.
Describing words for the "commu-
my included friendly, historic,
affordable, and safe.
Design . elements were dis-
cussed and the group as a whole
agreed that the final product
should have an Irish flair to pro-
mote the village's Irish roots.
Implementation strategies for the
brand were discussed and includ-
ed items like banners, a website,
promotional brochures, and sig-
nage. '
The.. branding project is being
led by the Dungannon:
Revitalization Committee, being
headed by Pauli Sommer and
funded by the Township of
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh
and. Huron Economic
Development Matters. The
Dungannon Seniors is managing
the bank account for the project
and the . Dungannon Agricultural
Society helped host the communi-
ty brainstorming session on
Thursday night.
`This project has already been
successful thanks to the commit-
ment and passion of the local citi-
zens and the multiple partnerships
that have been formed : throughout
the planning process," said
Herrfort.
Jane Hoy,. who wasn't able to
attend the session, is the commit-
tee facilitator
The information collected will
be analyzed and given to a graph-
ic . designer who will develop a
few concepts. The planning com-
mittee will be asking for the com-
munity's help in selecting the
final logo with hoPes to reveal it
early in the new year.
"I've been • working with the
community since January of 2008
and we want this branding
process to help refresh the com-
munity in business development
plus to give a sense of pride to the
residents of Dungannon," said
Herrfort. "It's a great community
to work in, there's a lot of pas-
sion. I feel very confident that this
process will help Dungannon."
