The Ripley/Lucknow game was once again a rough game that, saw a lot of bodies being thrown around, but a game that was close through most of the game. The Lancers .had the lead with just 'about six minutes to go in the game, but they couldn't hold onto the lead as the Wolves added two late goals to seal the victory. "We let the game slip away from us at the end," said Lancers bead. coach Greg Hamilton. "We took some costly penalties and we were up with just a few minutes left. It was our game to take and we just simply let the game get away from us." Scoring for the Lancers on Friday night were Blake Alton, Cal McDonagh, Adam MacDonald and Kyle Quinn. Assists came from Brad Robinson ' with two; Luke Drennan, Quinn, Ryan Murley, Rick Andrew and Jonny MacKinnon added one each. Saturday night was a different story as the Lancers 'um out + uick on the e Muskies scoring in the first minute of the game. The Lancers were executing on their power play and penalty killing which kept the Muskies off the scoreboard in the first. The Lancers took a 2 - 0 lead going into the second period. The second period was the total oppo- site from the first for the Lancers as the Muskies dominated every facet of the period. The stellar play of Lancers goalie Erol Kahraman kept the Lancers in the period and in the game as he faced over 20 shots in the period and 49 in the whole game. The Lancers surrendered two goals as the game was tied after two periods of play. The start of the third period wasn't any different as the Muskies scored quick to take a3-2lead. The Lancers quickly replied with a goal of their own a few minutes later and: the rest of theperiod played to a stalemate. Over time decided nothing and a shoot out had to decide the game to the delight of the Lancer fans. The Lancers didn't disappoint as Brad Burton,' Jonny MacKinnon and Ryan Murley scored in the shootout to take it by a 3 - 2 margm. Kahraman, made the stops he needed to in the shootout and made exceptional saves throughout the game to give the Muskies their first loss of the season. , Photo by Garit Reid Lucknow Lancers goalie Erol Kahraman stops one -of the 49 shots of the night as a Shelburne forward is right on the doorstep.
