Reunion Committee
meets for last time
The 2008
Lucknow Reunion
Committee met for
the last time in the
multi-purpose
room of the
Lucknow and
District Sports
Complex to dis-
cuss what they
were going to put
their money
towards.
At the start of
the meeting the
total amount of
money the com-
mittee had: to use
was $48,668.43.
Many things were
looked at and the
committee wanted
to focus on proj-
ects that were spe-
cial and unique, for
community better-
ment and long-
term .rejuvenation
projects (things
that would stand
the test of time).
The . ,money
being ` donated to
the various organi-
zations and service
clubs of Lucknow
are $1755 to
Lucknow Minor
Hockey for a set
and half of hockey
jerseys, $ 00 to the
Women's Slo-pitch
League, $1483 to
be donated for the
arena fans, $5,000
for any special
project the new
Lucknow Fire Hall
might need, $2,000
for a special proj-
ect the Lucknow
Agri.cultur.al
Society may need.
Money was set
aside from: the
money made from
the Lucknow his-
tory book ($5,000)
for touching up the
Paul Henderson
mural on the cor-
ner of Ross and-
Campbell streets.
The committee
also commented
that all formal
requests were coli-.
sidered.
The committee
were also looking
to set aside $5,000
in the form of seed
money that the
construction of a
proposed statue of
historical figure
Donald Dinnie.
These projects and
the rest of the left
over money in the
committee budget
was designated for
downtown better-
ment.

Lucknow Reunion
Committee Joan
Chamney wanted
to get some of the
money sorted out
for specific things
to get the ball
rolling.
"These projects
are going to take
time, so I'd like to
get started on these
them as soon as
possible," said
Chamney.
