Turning 30 is just fine with me
My birthday is coming up on
Nov. 12 and I will be hitting the
big 30. I think . for many people,
they think it's a bad thing, a sign
that their youth is over. For
myself, I think it's just an age
because I pretty much have the
same mind set as 1 did when I
was 25.
I'm just happy I'll get to.
be sharing the birthday with
my friends, parents and my
twin brother. A lot of peo-
ple when they meet us
don't think we are twins
or brothers for that .mat-
ter. They ` figure it out
.when we stain to talk
because we have a lot of the same
mannerisms.
I'll be going out on 'the town in
the big city of Peterborough
where my brother currently
resides.
Again, I don't think 30 is a big
thing in my world. Over half of
my friends have already turned
• the three decade mark and it did-
n't phase them one bit and they
are still the same as ever. I think
some people think they have to
change their lifestyle or be more
mature. I: say if you feel comfort-
able with who you are, f then you
don't have to change for any age
or social norms. I'm not saying be
reckless and immature, but juste
don't change your personality
for a birthday.
Getting older has its advan-
tages too. You look at the
world each and everyday
with a better perspective and
you gain the knowledge
and wisdom that life:
affords everyone the
older they get. I'll take . .
knowledge over youth any
day.
I also know that some people
reading this are thinking I'm still
a youngin' in many respects and
that I still have a few years before
my knowledge and experience
has merit. All I can say to is that
"I'm working on it."
I still have my career ahead of
me and hopefully a fancily some-
day, so I know I have a lot of liv-
ing to do and I'm thinking the
best years are ahead of me and I
can't wait.
Remember when.
