H -K Twp. council endorses moratorium on health care restructuring

Huron -Kinloss Twp. council endorsed .the
resolution of thp town of Fort Erie and peti-
tioned the provincial government to calf for
a moratorium by the Ontario Medical
Association to stop all major health care
restructuring decisions until the Rural and
Northern Health Care Panel reports its find-
ings and recommendations and order the
Local Health Integration Network's (LIEN)
and hos itals in rural and northern COMM-

nities to put a hold on major restructuring of
health care services.
"If it will clarify the issue, I'll support the
resolution," said councillor Anne Eadie.

Huron -Kinloss Twp. council endorsed the
resolution of the corporation of the town of
New Tecumseth and in doing so petitioned
the provincial goverment to consider that

quote from Play Power LT Canada Inc. in
the amount of $9,085.9341us taxes, for the
supply and installation of playground equip-
ment at Blue Park. Blue Park is located in . _
Point Clark.
Nitrate filters
Councillor Eadie has contacted Professor
Will Robertson regarding the possibility of
incorporating nitrate filters in the Bruce
Beach Drain. Huron -Kinloss Twpcouncil
were all in favour of seeing the filters being
installed as part of the project. • "
Commercial entry doors
There were no bids to replace the com-
mercial entry doors at the community -cen-
tres in Rip)ey and Point Clark.
At the Huron -Kinloss council meeting
Sept. 21 a report from parks and recreation
director Mike Fair said he solicited a quote
from John Ball Camentry. The total price for
all four anodized aluminum doors, including
automatic operators as required, is
$24,652.09. Thebudgetfor this project was
$26,000.
"It think that's too much money," said
councillor Jeff alliOft.
"These doors are wickedly expensive,"
said councillor Jim Hanna. Council accept-
ed the quote to supply and install the new
entty doors.
