Brussels livestock Total receipts at Brussels Livestock Market for the week ending Sept. 11 were 1,980 head of cattle aid 775 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, fed steers and heifers sold on a . steady mar- ket. Choice steers and heifers sold 86.00 - 90.00 with sales to 91.00. Second cut sold 84.00 - 86.00. Cows sold steady. On Thursday, all classes of veal sold on a verystrong mar- ket with price $3 - $5 higher. Lambs sold on- a , good active market with light lambs sell- ing higher. Sheep and goats sold steady. On Friday, calves sold steady and yearlings sold under pressure. There were 79 steers on offer. There were 45 heifers on offer. There were 220 cows on offer, Export type sold 50.E 55.00 with sales to 63.00; Beef cows sold 47.00 - 52.00 with sales to 56.00; D1 & D2, 45.00 51.00; D3, 36.00 45.00; D4, 26.00 - 36.00. There were 28- bulls on offer selling 48.50 - 62.00 with sales to 73.50: There were 158 head of veal on offer. Beef sold 105.00 - 145.00 with sales to 159.50; good Holstein, 85.00 - 100.00 with sales 'to 102.00; medium Holstein, 70.00 - 85.00; heavy Holstein, 80.00 - 90.00 with sales to 9700. Lambs under 50 lbs., 190.00 - 270.00; 50 - 65 lbs.; 200.00 - 224.00; 65 80 lbs., 156.00 - 196.00; 80 - 95 lbs., 140.00 - 176.00; 95 - 110 lbs., 154.00 •- 174.00; 110 lbs and over, 155.00 - 160.00. Following the lunch, Boyd's Orchestra played some good old fashioned toe -tapping music that was enjoyed by all. The Lucknow Legion Pipe Band will participate in the fall fair parade Lucknow hosi 099 on Saturday along with the Teeswater pipe band and the Lucknow school band. The Lucknow Presbyterian Church was a busy spot on Saturday morning as many young moms attended the mom -to -mom sale. Jim and Mary Purvis, of Strathroy, and formerly from the here, were in the area visiting friends and family.
