SuperWalk for Parkinson's...

The ninth annual SuperWalk for Parkinson's was anotherhuge success last Sunday, with dozens of families
coming out to support one another by participating in either a .2km or Skin walk around Kincardine. Among
participants was the Hill family from ,Lucknow, who rallied together to support Jean Hill, middle row, far right.
Sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great grantkhildren of the Hill family gathered lisVictoria
Park to show their support to Jean, who has Parkinson's Disease.
Wingham Golf and Country
Sunday, Aug. 30 the Wingham
Golf and Curling Club was host to
George Oriold and the group from
Wroxeter. The weather was unpre-
dictable all day - off and on rain
and sunshine. Des ppite4e s ndi-
tions 30 golfers played nine holes
and enjoyed a roast beef supper in
the clubhouse.
Monday a ,group of ladies from
the Wroxeter area celebrated the
80th birthday of twins Francis
Bremnel and Nora Stephenson by
joining together with family and:
friends for a luncheon at the club-
house.
The Tuesday ladies . showed
some signs that school was back
in and moms and grandmothers
were busy getting kids off to class.
Around 20 of the gals enjoyed a
beautiful sunny day and a relaxing
game of golf. The manager
noticed that some of the girls do a
lot of talking to their $olf balls
telling it what to do before hitting
it.
The Wednesday; morning senior
men had 26 golfersout playing on
a terrific sunny day. Teeswater
boy Gord Cerson finished first
with Bob Johnston second and
lub results
Gerry Edwards third. Ed Daer had
the low gross shooting a 37.
Thursday night men again had a
great turnout with 53 golfers tak-
ing advantage of a beautiful
September night. The winners
were: longest drive, Pat Rozendal,
• longest putt . Dan McBurney and
Rob Harrison; closest to the pin,'
Doug Rathwell and Larry Pellett;
hidden scores Richard Watson,
Doug Vanderwoude and Peter
Inglis and most honest Lloyd' Erb.
The lowgross was Dave Bartman
with second low Steve Nixon, Bill
Robinson, and Don Edgar.
BlackHorse mixed senior golf results
BlackHorse mixed senior golf
on Aug. 31 saw nine holes played
on the Stableford scoring system
with handicap in a team format.
The first place team with 27
points was Gladys Hamilton,
Stan Grant and Bruce Heimpel.
High individual points went to
Barb Helm with 19 points and
Stan Grant with 23 points.
Longest putt on number three
was Barb Helm and Richard
Papineau. Closest -to the -pin on
number six was Pauline Pegg
and Wayne Farrell.
BlackHorse senior men golf on
Sept. 3 was a regular game from
the Blues with handicap. Doug
Wilson Sr. finished first with net
68. Walter Arnold (Perkie) and
Willard Cowan tied for second
with net 69. Closest -to -the -pin
on any shot off the green went to
Willard Cowan on number one
and Jim Seip on number seven.
Closest to the fairway trap on
number eight was Don Bone and
the longest putt on number three
went to Miro Tadla.
This was Dave Anderson's last
Senior game at BlackHprse
because he's moving to BC.
Mixed Seniors on Sept. 7 was
nine holes team play with Net
Stableford scoring. What a won-
derful day for golf. The last 10
days and the next 7 are just as
nice. Glad to see July and August
have ended, . now we can • get
down to summer in Sept. And
Oct. The first place team with 28
points was Jan Grant, Stan Grant
and Wayne Farrell. High individ-
ual points went to Barb Helm
with 24 points and Stan Grant
with 21 points. Longest putt on
number three was Barb Helm
and John Gross. Closest -to -the -
pin on number six was John
Fludder.
BlackHorse senior men on
Sept. 10 was a regular game from
salted, unsalted, bbq or nacho
the blues with handicap. Walter
Arnold and Bruce Heimpel tied
for first with net 67.
;All by himself in third with net
68 was Doug Foell.
Closest -to -the -pin on .any shot
off the green on number nine
went to Barry McDonagh. This
was only a par four and he won
on his fourth shot and ended with
a tap -in bogie. Barry also won
the hidden hole number 13 with
the worst score on a par three
with a solid six.
Closest -to -the -pin on number
17 went to John Whitten and the
longest putt on number three was
Don Bone.
Wayne Farrell played his last
round at Blackhorse this year and
will be going home to Ottawa.
Year-end • banquet for
BlackHorse senior men and
mixed seniors combined will be
Oct. 1, 'playing 18 holes at 1 p.m.
followed by a banquet.
