police and the Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (SPCA) have been
called and were to arrive at
the abandoned property.
Sept. 10. However, they
said, the SPCA can take only
so many animals. Besides,
many. of the cats are sick and
may be beyond help, . they
said:
Councillor Jim Hanna sug-
gested setting traps on the
neighbours' properties,
catching the cats and then
having them euthanized.
"We have to deal with this
problem. We can't ignore it,"
said Hanna.
Well Aware Program
The Well Aware Program
is currently being offered in
Bruce County and is free of
charge to all rural well own-
ers. The process is voluntary
and confidential.
During a well check-up
visit, a guide will spend up
to two hours with the home-
owner teaching them how to
identify and address poten-
tial risks to their water sup=
ply. The homeowner will
learn about the soil and
bedrock conditions of their
property and how it can
impact their groundwater.
They are shown how to per-
form routine checkups and
maintenance on their wells
and they are provided with

PURPOSE AND EFFECT:
The Huron County Planning and Development Department is required to undertake a 5 -year
review of the County's Offiriat Plan, a land use planning document that is a statement of where
and how development should take place. The Plan includes vision goals and policy directions for
development of the County for Agriculture, Community Services, the Economy,. Extractive
Resources, Natural Environment, and Settlement Patterns.
