BlackHorse golf results Blackhorse mixed seniors on Aug. 24 was nine holes played on the Stableford scor- ing system with handicap• in a team._ format. The first place team with 27 points was Barb Helm, Karen Gross, Stan Grant and Tom Pegg. Low gross was Chris Evans and Barb Helm tied at 46 with Don Bone at 37. Low net was Barb Helm and Wayne Farrell both with 34. Longest Putt on cum- ber 18 was Pauline Pegg and Art Helm with CTP on nut'hkber. 13 going to Joanne Martin nd Wayne Farrell. Senior men on Aug. 27 was an 18 -hole team scramble with "wrinkles". The scramble means all four players in the foursome hit from the tee, then all four players go to the best ball and they all hit from there, continuing until they finish the hole, then the "team" score is submitted at the end of the round. Two teams tied for first place. Team number one was John Haley,:. Ed Dair, Bruce Heimpel and Al Hackett. Team number two was Al Bowers, Bill Brace, Doug Wilson Sr. and Willard Cohen CTP on number six was Willard Cohen and on number 13 was. John Gross. Ripley may get dog park r A local dog trainer is look- ing- forward, to a prospective Ripley Dog Park in league with the Township of Huron moss. and the Ripley and District Agricultural Society. Luiza Small said she'd had inquiries from her customers and was curious about the con- cept for about a year and a half and approached council about the concept. "We have a survey at a num- ber of local businesses to see how many people may be interested in it," said Small. "A lot of people only walkAheir dogs to the end of the drive- way. Dogs need more exercise or it leads to behaviour issues." Small said the proposal was well-received by , the township and staff are looking into cost- ing for fencing, while signage and other features would be added through fund-raising. "We're looking for help from local businesses," she said, for other items like benches, poop bag boxes and agility obsta- cles and toys. The Ripley Agricultural Society is looking for : an area near the community centre to store more livestock at the Ripley Fall Fair and grants are being looked into.
