Aug. 14 were 1,952 head of cattle and 788 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, fed steers and heifers sold. on a fully steady market. Choice steers and heifers sold 88.00 - 92.00 with sales to 106.25.. Second cut sold 85.00 - 88.00. Cows sold on a steady market On Thursday, Holstein and beef veal sold on a strong active trade $2 - $5 higher. Lambs sold on a strong active market, steady from last week. Sheep and goats sold steady. On Friday, calves and year- lings sold under pressure. There were 198 ,steers on offer. There were 137 heifers on offer. • There were 231 cows on offer. ' Export type sold 50.00 - 58.00 with sales to 62.50; Beef cows sold 45.00 - 56.00 with sales to 59.00; D1 & D2, 47.00 - 53.00; D3, 38.00 - 47.00; D4, 26.00 - 38.00. There were 14 bulls on offer selling 45.00 61.50 with sales to 64.50. 'mere were 184 head of veal on offer. Beef sold 105.00 130.00 with sales to 144.00; good Holstein, 78.00 - 88.00 with sales to 91.50; medium Holstein, 70.00 - 78.00; plain Holstein, 60.00 - 70.00; heavy Holstein, 75.00 - 85.00. A fiddler's jam session started out the show with many enjoying a dance to the music. Sympathy extended to Taylor family Margaret Wolters, of Vermilion, Alta., and her sister Merilyn Sargeant, of Rimbey, Alta., visited with Bell Hackett last Friday and Saturday. This was the first time they had been to Lucknow to see where their Hackett ancestors settled in 1845 in Ashfield Township. Sympathy is extended to Rick Taylor, Lynn McDonagh and Brian Taylor and their families on the passing of ' their father and grandfather, Bill Taylor, last week. Sympathy is also extended to thefamily of Dorothy Miller who passed away last week, Marian Button has returned to Australia following an extended visit with her mother Lorna Button. Visitors with Joan Robinson on Friday were her step -daughter and husband, Louise and Raymond Morrissey, of Wainflee t. Word- has been received on the passing of Bill Eland, of Sault Ste. Marie. He is the brother of Maijorie MacLeod and Betty Humphrey, of Lucknow,and Shirley Smith, of Brussels, and nephew of Joan Robinson.
